Edward Morgan Forster (January 1, – June 7, ) was an English novelist, short story writer, and essayist. He is most famous for his novels. Forster is also known for a creed of life which can be summed up in the epigraph to his novel Howards End, "Only connect." Forster's two most noted works, A Passage to India and Howards End, explore the irreconcilability of class differences.
