Wallace Stegner Wallace Earle Stegner (Febru – Ap) was an American novelist, writer, environmentalist, and historian. He was often called "The Dean of Western Writers". [1] He won the Pulitzer Prize in [2] and the U.S. National Book Award in [3].
Mr. Stegner died at 84, on Ap following an auto accident in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He left a legacy as writer, professor, and environmentalist that once moved Edward Abbey to pronounce him "the only living American writer worthy of the Nobel.".
